Right click and "open image" in your browser, then you can zoom and see for yourself.
Note the slotted main plane for example.
I wouldn't so much call it a slotted main plane, but the first flap is just permanently mounted with no adjustment. It really is two separate airfoils. It's really extremely similar to the latest Sauber FW

And yet Alonso is using it in the race, so clearly it's providing some benefit.

I don't think "basic" is the right word. What's so "basic" about it? I'd agree with "simple" though.

You surely already know that post, but for the interest: Scarbs' Ferrari new front wing analysis

By basic i i mean simple. The flaps are all straight edged with no great change in AoA along the length of each flap. Also surprised to see no raised flap tips on the inner section (as used by RBR and Williams) or split ones like on the Renault. Of course basic or simple are not bad necessarily. Clearly not in this case.

the profile of the wing (inside) looks very similar to the Mclaren wing.

Well they do say next years car will be radical. But there are several other cars with similar wings I believe currently.

I think there might have been some confusion here at Ferrari, looks like a wing to be used for the launch configuration F2012. Or maybe they're going really basic in the beginning so it looks like they're developing the FW and doing upgrade work over 2012. :)

it will probably be much more developed by the time the 2012 car will be finished

Only Sauber uses a wing really similar.
