True, Daniels comments strongly indicate that he’s going back to his FP1 setup for FP3. Which is good, because he was 3/10ths clear of the Haas cars in FP1.
I guess, the Haas were fast in Fp2. They made a step in Fp2 and Dans going to need to build up again from his fp1 set up if he hopes to be 3/10 ahead. His FP1 best time is a ways off from Yuki's FP2 time.
That’s mostly track evolution tho, if you look at top speeds in both sessions, they barely moved. The important comparison is in the session itself.

With 16 mins to go in FP3 the lads were separated by a 1/10th - Yuki managed to get a tow from Colapinto, which gained him a 10th or two.

They said Daniel hit 341kms down the straight, so either the engine got turned up for the qually sim, or they trimmed out the car a touch.

Both were inside the top 10 at the time.

With 5 mins to go in FP3, We are faster than the Haas cars so far, but Albon seems to be flying a rocket ship! He’s almost half a second faster than Yuki!

Daniel is 3/10ths further back ATM, I think the yellow for Gasly impacted the start of his lap, but can’t confirm it.

If both drivers can get quality laps in, I think getting into Q3 is possible, only just.

Meckies just said the same on German TV. He expects it to be a matter of hundredths of a second.

Both drivers are using the new floor now, as it turned out to be better yesterday. The balance on both cars still isn't perfect yet, though, which he hopes to be fixed for qualifying.

Will VCARB bring updates to win midfield battle? 'Some things are coming'

GPblog asked if any upgrades to the car are in the pipeline, and Permane gave the affirmative answer. "We have updates coming," the sporting director revealed.

With a cryptic description, Permane seemed to say where the updates are coming: "I don't want to say every race, but like I said, I don't think we've got much for Singapore again. It's a bit of a tricky one there, but certainly, we've got stuff coming in Austin, there's updates planned all right the way through, not quite to the end, but certainly to two or three races from the end."
.
Austin will be a sprintrace so just 1 FP. If that goes wrong, the whole weekend will go wrong.

Word is Vcarb01 will be upgraded with RB20s rear suspension, possibly by around Las Vegas if not sooner.

I just watched qualifying with the live timing and man, that was frustrating!

Yuki did great to get into Q2, but that tiny mistake Daniel made really cost him in Q1.

I do wonder if Carlos and Lewis mucking about in front of him made any difference tho, I was watching the GPS locations and they swapped around twice in front of Daniel down the back of the circuit while he was on his hot lap?

It looked to me like Charles and Carlos might have made things tricky for Yuki in sector 3 of his Q2 lap too.

The team didn’t seem to be able to get either Driver in a position to get a tow when they really needed it, there’s definitely some luck involved, but the extra 1-2/10ths are really helpful if you can get them.

Stroll proving once again that he’s an equal opportunity idiot, this time he’s damaged Yuki’s car with a move that was never possible

Hard luck for Yuki, but yeah gotta watch Stroll he is a nut on track. What was with Dan's strategy. Just a boring nothing. Worst of all the car is just slow at the moment. Need some upgrades that work!!
