It wasn't exactly an excitable comment, which was around whether Mclaren were in the top 4Seerix wrote: ↑01 Mar 2024, 19:32why don't we calm down and post McLaren relevant posts, hm?
Rus did not look that bad in p3
ontopic,
Car seems good, top3 was doable. One lap pace is right there or close to it.
Let's see what's possible tomorrow and how is the long run pace compared to the competition.
Tough S1 for Lando, Perez did not block him though
Nor radio: "yeah, shocking as normal, sorry"
I tend to think today Lando would have been on pole by a margin had they all had the same car.
This kind of analysis is encouraging, things should work out even better next weekends. The density of the results is impressive.
Yeah it is positive in that the car has pace and is very close to the front. We didn't get the final lap we wanted from Lando and Oscar had a poor Qualifying, but we've a race to get through yet before the points are dished out, and it feels quite positive in that we could fight for wins even with this configuration.FittingMechanics wrote: ↑01 Mar 2024, 20:12Btw I think this proves that race pace in FP2 was real and not due to engine modes or fuel.
McLaren looked to be second best after Verstappen. We are starting P7 and P8 so that will not be ideal, but if the team does well tomorrow they may be able to get to a podium. That would be a great result.
