I don't think FOM have their own courier service and planes.

As I recall, FOM provide logistics for the garage equipment and cars for all the teams plus marshalls kit and safety cars. That contact is run by DHL. Also as I recall, the teams are responsible for shipping their own non-garage paraphernalia. For practical purposes most of the kit is shipped on chartered cargo planes, ie team and FOM shipping on the same plane.

Anyway, why use conjecture when the facts are at our finger tips  http://www.formula1.com/inside_f1/under ... /5297.html

so Schumacher drives from 15th grid position to the 2nd place :?: I think you forgot his penalty.
for me only one thing is certain, some of the big names will not have an easy race/qualifying
Oh I'm sorry, Some people have busy lives and work to realise all the penalities
Just wanted to know whether you thought Schumacher would "walk over water (aka drive like a young God)" in the race or if you just forgot his penalty.
No need to be miffed. But you should work harder to realise all the penalties in the future.

I didn't even know he had a penalty...until your reply and subsequent double checking...
If someone said to me that you can have three wishes, my first would have been to get into racing, my second to be in Formula 1, my third to drive for Ferrari.

DRS zone shortened by 20m.

Should be good for the show!
The FIA has announced that DRS zone for the Japanese Grand Prix will be shorter for this year's race.

The ruling body has decided to shorten the zone by 20 meters compared to last year, when the detection point was 70 metres after Turn 15 and the activation point 30 metres after Turn 18.

For this year's event, however, the detection zone will be 50m before Turn 16 and the activation zone is at the Control Line after Turn 18.

In 2010, before DRS was introduced in F1, there were seven overtaking moves completed at Suzuka.

Last year, in contrast, there were 59 on-track changes of position.

The question is how far to the front w03 will be able to qualify.
A P5 might be on the cards ,but I´m not sure if it´s worth fighting for being 15 or 20th i´d say saving fresh rubber has more value.
Of course ,if the car can fight for the second row this might be worth going for it.

Once a driver has signed with another team but still drives for his current, does the current team not allow that driver to be as involved with the tech since it changes virtually every race? Will this change any race weekend procedures for Lweis or will nothing change except maybe some mind games that may start between the team and driver? Sort of like when a person puts in their final work date and how that then affects internal meetings, etc. just curious if the new contracts will affect these last races. You guys seem to understand those dynamics and I'm genuinely curious if this will affect anything. I know public ally everyone acts like nothing will change, but I find that hard to believe--especially in this scenario with Lewis.
I think some people are overemphasizing the drama between McLaren and Hamilton. What about Alonso and Renault in 2006, when I believe the latter knew for the whole year that their man would be moving to a rival team? It would be a colossal black eye on McLaren for them to abort Hamilton's title challenge.
The only way for MWit and McL to prove that Lewis has made a mistake in leaving them is for Ham to win the WDC thisn year otherwise they have once again had a competitive car and no championship which is why i believe Lewis has left after 6 years.
Looks very close between 2 and three stops on strategy this weekend. Maybe Lotus can finally come good and win (although current form doesnt suggest it) or Perez can get another great result. One run in Q3 for 3 stoppers? Which way will Ham and Button go? Hopefully we will get a mix of the two for another exciting race.
Di Rista needs another strong show in Japan if he is to have a chance at Massa Ferrari in 2013.

Di Resta passes Masa in points (7) and gets his Ferrari seat! It's about time they threw him out, they are the laughing stock of the other top teams. I can't say that I think Di Resta is "Ferrari material" but I'm pretty sure he'll do a better job than Masa.

I have -7 rating votes , but even I know this is offtopic.

I say : It will be a dominant victory for Vettel.

If that does come true, that would be the first back-to-back victory of the year, no?

Again I say, RedBull will be no threat for this race. The car will struggle. Work the maths people.

To be honest I think since after Barcelona 2011 - the Red Bull has never showed its usual fast corner prowess. What were "Red Bull tracks" in 2009 and 2010 no longer apply.
