By rights it should be scraped but all money & glitz mean it is "the" showcase for all the European based sponsors.
But when it rains.... :P

I'm liking Monaco more and more the last couple of years. At least it's still a track where you're not allowed to make one single mistake. Only the best thrive on Monaco.

Well, I don't understand the hype around European races (Monaco/Spain), because the races are so boring. Actually I prefer Montreal/Austin.

If Hamilton could trade a win here for a win in Monaco would he take it?

That's a rather peculiar question. Why do you ask?

Anyway, I don't believe he would. Rationally speaking neither option would be better then the other. Psychologically speaking he could hand out a mental blow to Rosberg by winning 4 races in a row plus momentarily taking over the lead. If Rosberg wins this weekend, he'll have again some room to breath and could boost his confidence.

But above all else, neither are an option for Hamilton. The only option he'll be thinking about is winning both races. Hamilton isn't the guy to put all his eggs in one basket; no he'll get several more chickens to lay more eggs until all the baskets are filled to the top.

Considering he has a good shot of winning both, i figured if he were to have an unfortunate weekend (all drivers have them) which GP out of Spain and Monaco would he prefer to have that weekend at?

Like you say it would be his 4th in a row which is a pretty big deal but would he trade it for another win in Monaco the GP he almost always marks as his favourite?

I thought the same for a moment. Then I thought about it some more, and I think *I* would trade a win here for Monaco. Monaco is special - and I think it's one of Rosbergs strongest tracks. Assuming that eventually, Rosberg will get a win, as the competing driver, I'd rather have the momentum shift to me later than earlier, then losing it. Perhaps a bit like a hockey match - where a team takes a 2:0 lead, and then due to that lead, gets comfortable and the momentum manages to shift to the other team, who, given enough time, might go on to win the match.

4 straight losses to Hamilton might be a "blow", but assuming he wins Monaco, it may be that momentum that shifts back to him and the 4 straight losses will be forgotten. A narrow victory in Catalunya and a loss at what is probably one of the "great circuits" for most drivers ever to have raced there and one of his "strong tracks" - I think would be an equal blow.

If I were Lewis, I think, yes, I'd take that Monaco win.

Then again, he never won Catalunya. I guess it won't matter, he'll try to win both.
Not for nothing, Rosberg's Championship is the only thing that lends credibility to Hamilton's recent success. Otherwise, he'd just be the guy who's had the best car. — bhall II

Its just so difficult to overtake though, if a Merc gets jumped at the start I bet they wont be able to get past, they'll have to rely on strategy and better tire wear, this race needs rain more than any other.

I see a lot of teams are making big claims on development ahead of Spain, is this headline grabbing bravado ? we've seen a lot of this recently with very little to back it up.
