I have been seeing a lot of Verstappen onboard and he is my pick for this Grand Prix. That Red Bull is just PLANTED.

I think this is a HDF track for ultimate lap time and I think Max will shock a few today. I also think the Bulls manage tyres the best so if he can sneak into the top 3 even, he could well win the race.

And if I could just ask the other fans- What in the world is up with Gasly? I didn't expect him to touch Max, but by jee he's been nowhere.

Another mention, Merc today smashed Ferrari in the final sector. Bottas 4 tenths up on Vettel and Leclerc.

In their first hot lap set on medium tyres (maybe they wanted to see if could be used in Q2?), Lewis was marginally faster than Bottas, so it seems to me that Lewis overcooked the soft tyres in the last sector and that explains why he was 5 tenths slower ...

That means either increased pressure of the rear tyre affecting his soft tyres or his car is set up more towards race and the medium tyres ...

On another note, Lewis lost something at the back of his car in his hot lap on soft tyres on that long back straight ...

The question will be if he makes any adjustments will they help. He still doesn't seem comfortable with the car!

To answer my own question, with Bottas' fastest time at 1:32.658 the cutoff is 6.49 secs.

On Sky, Nico Rosberg said Ferrari are gaining 8 tenths on the straights, compared to Merc, but losing the same amount in low corners ...

This statement was backed by Karun saying that after FP2 analysis Ferrari and Merc are on par regarding top speed on the straight when they were on race trim but in qualy mode Ferrari was 8km/h faster in Vettel`s case (trying the low RW DF) and just 3km/h in Leclerc`s case (in the higher RW DF) ...

For the record, in FP3 both Ferraris were 5km/h faster on the straight compared to Merc ...

So is not about drag but rather the Ferrari party mode ...

I saw a quote of rosberg saying Ferraris engine is better but Merc have better party mode for quali. Would explain Merc catching up in Q3 at Bahrain.

Also since midway through fp3 Bottas has been purple in sector 3 on every run. To me their rear wing looks smaller?
