Oracle Red Bull Racing RB19 Speculation Thread

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

Compare it to the undercut last year

Image

The front of the sidepod undercut (around the O of ORACLE) outwashes far more aggressively, more ferrari-like in that sense

Sidepods look very wide.

Yes I feel that "O" of the "Oracle" is more forward facing than previously.

Why does every frame of this rb19 have a strange looking discontinuous engine cover?

Red Bull are not wasting any money on camouflage livery.

The car on track today was not the RB18. The nose is significantly wider and the front wing is completely different philosophy. Can't see anything else from the videos we've seen

The rear wing used is surprisingly low downforce in comparison to the one used last year for shakedown but I guess it seems things are not as last minute this year as in 2022.
Last year the track was damp. I guess it is dry this year.

This should lay to rest suggestions of zero-pods. If anything the sidepods look slabbier than last season

4K footage is data intensive. It's likely that the photographer is using something with a low capture rate. The discontinuity is because the car moves too much during the shot.

Does anyone else see a slightly anhedral front wing?

The front wing lowermost plane seems to be raised slightly in the centre where it meets the nose - a less extreme version of what aston-martin had last season.

Could be just my mind/the angle playing tricks though

FW looks the most different to last year to me. The rest is hard to see.

The floor edge looks profoundly uninteresting, like the final version of the RB18. Any cutouts/tricks might be brought later though I suppose

RB might be using some actual parts for camouflage around sidepod undercut. Or very interesing colour to confuse everyone

Front wing is definitely very different in philosophy, but the car is using low downforce wings in any case.
And they call it a stall. A STALL!

Just because we are working with so little pixels. Remember last years tea tray in front of rear wing speculation. Same root cause. It seems to have a more pronounced shaping of that indent on the sidepod and likely indeed more undercut. Nose imho very similar, not wider. That also seems a pixels interpolation problem.

Duchessa reckons nose/front wing are the most different and I believe he has seen the full car (as he is at the filming day I think)
