WEC 2024

Post

And now again a corvette GT driver after being passed bumps the Ferrari… that guy is an online lobby only, get him far away from a real car.

What is wrong with these drivers?

EDIT: lmao almost again with the 83 Ferrari that was right there when corvette and lambo had contact. After winning Monza there is some curse or doom hovering over Ferrari now.

Relax, the 83 won

That was a great race. This championship needs more hype.

7 Toyota got hammered for ignoring waved yellows. 20 BMW got 100 second stop and hold for repeated technical infringement. 6 Porsche got the same penalty as the 7 Toyota. A lot of people have some explaining to do, but that is the beauty of endurance racing. You need more than a fast car to win.

Between the various contacts against Ferraris and the penalties I think it’s fair to say it all evened out. 51 Ferrari was fast, too bad Giovinazzi broke the clutch and of course Vandoorne can’t see mirrors.

Very close race, BoP is very well placed at the moment where it’s down to setup really.

Was Kobayashi penalized for the overtake off track? I rewatched the last hour and saw the drive through for yellow flags, but then he passed a GT car off track and not sure he was penalized.

I don’t think he was, but in my opinion the rule for overtaking off track should be directed towards in-class battles. Hypercar vs Hypercar or GT vs GT. That’s more the spirit of that regulation. Sometimes the GT and Hypercar cars get into a tight situation which requires the LMP driver to go off track to avoid a collision. That’s not really taking advantage to me, although you don’t want Hypercars just cutting the track deliberately to avoid GT traffic so it should counted as a standard track limit offense which they are only allowed a certain number of before getting a drive through penalty.

I don’t know what it is with FIA races and tracks falling apart when Ferrari pass by…

Surely FIA has a process to review the safety of tracks at this point after Vegas last year and Miami’s asphalt the year before and more.

Why drive like that when there is 6 hours left. I don't understand these guys. Driving like it's the last lap on the first lap.

Alpine had their race destroyed. That was a podium car today.

What a drive from 50 and 51, incredible defense and that Ferrari breaking is something else.

They join a long and illustrious list of manufacturers imploding at home races this season.

Ferrari at Imola
Alpine at Le Mans
Toyota at Fuji

This sport really exposes the human element.

We need a german round
