It just bizarrely cut off after Norris to the cgi sky studio of all places. Exactly what people obviously wanted instead of the sprint podium interview :?

Alex was there and the other drivers had left (HAM, ALO) maybe there was no other umbrellas and they didn't want to stand in the rain any more ?
Possibly. Maybe they only had painted umbrellas for P2 and P3

ALO after the SPRINT Quali : "WE WEREN'T VERY COMPETITIVE"

https://fr.motorsport.com/f1/news/alons ... /10600714/

"In QS1, we looked at the radar and the threat of rain was there from the first second. We made some progress in QS1. Then in QS2, it just went by... because we were P8 or P9 so we weren't very competitive in the dry."

"It rained at the end of QS3 and conditions were a bit different every lap. The tires were improving, but the circuit was a bit worse with more rain, so it was difficult to judge the level of grip and the level of risk you wanted to apply. But in the end, I'm very happy."

Fingers crossed for tomorrow

Not super competitive in the dry qualifying according to Alonso and they don't have a clear idea yet in terms of pace. Well, then that article might have gotten it wrong, my bad :D . We will see tomorrow the pace to confirm

Abysmal race pace. Was just Fernando, again, hanging on for way longer than he should’ve. Cars behind were way faster. Very disappointing, especially taking into mind where that Merc ended up.

Stellar effort from Alonso yet again.

You wonder just what he could drag from the Ferrari and McLaren if he had those cars.

Very unfortunate to come away with no points but a might drive.

Exactly. He gave it everything to hang on. Couldn’t ask for more from him, brilliant drive. Shame about the puncture and way it ended. They will need to make some serious changes to the set up to have a chance in the dry because not even Stroll could get into the top ten.

Not only has there been no improvement in car understanding but the pace is worse than Suzuka. Well, if I can take something from this is that website is no longer reliable.

Were the medium tires new or used? The car's performance was bad from lap 9 onward. Sector 2 was particularly atrocious.

Let's see if they can make some setup changes to improve pace before Qualy.

Yeah, tires were new at the start. Guess the pace just wasn’t there at all and Alonso had to fully concentrate on defending.

Croft said on Sky that Alonso and Verstappen were on 3 lap old mediums. I dont remember them using a medium set in practice. He also got some wrong information about what tyres each driver was on so I dont know if the Alonso info was correct. As for race pace, I had a chuckle reading the articles about correlation issues and updates not being dialed in. Sounded a lot like last year.

Sprint qualifying requires a medium set for Q1 and a medium set for Q2 so everyone had medium tires with 3 laps (out + push + in).

What a shame for the puncture.. being in the podium for almost the whole race with no pace. ALO still limited by the car.

Qualifying Race Pace SIM :
- ASTON 4th +0.46
- MERC 5th +0.71

HAM pace was impressive today so we do not trust telemetry so much anymore
