We will have to wait and see how people react to those burned bits.” The former Jordan designer is relating to exhaust gases singeing the bodywork of the car in places where you wouldn’t expect gases to be channelled in normal circumstances. With that in mind, he’s expecting some drama in the paddock:
“I think, right at this point in time, Red Bull have probably got something on their rear wing assembly that might be questioned. I think other teams are writing for an explanation at the moment. Teams will think they know what is happening, write to the FIA asking if they can do it to their own car and ask if it is legal. So, I’m not sure about fire but I do think there might be some smoke going up in Melbourne about some bits and pieces. We’ll see what people can get away with.”

I suspect he's referring to the rear wing they ran on the last day of testing. Haven't got time to dig out a photo but they seemed to have two two vertical slots at either end of the wing between the endplate and the wing element itself. It seems to blatantly break the rule about 'closed sections' but I guess that Red Bull will argue that it's actually part of the endplate, when does the endplate become part of the wing I guess will be the argument...
