Some didnt.raymondu999 wrote:We had a similar incident a while back when a forum member mistook Webber and Vettel's jokes in a press conference about having a ride height system as fact and posted it as if it was damning evidence of Red Bull doing illegal stuff. lol.
I think the first 3 were old spec, and the last 5 were new spec.gibells wrote:About Alonso's engine allocations. Out of the eight, how many are of the new spec, i.e. the one with improved 'reliability'? Can anyone hazard a guess?
Think it was engine related, but no huge drama since he's been using engines that have done 3 races during free practice.MikeFromCanada wrote:Alonso's car just lost drive at the end of FP1, parking his car along the straight at the exit of the Senna S. Hopefully for him it is gearbox related and not engine related...
Just to add to this, it was an old spec engine (the #2 engine) that just expired in free pracrice.Gerhard Berger wrote:I think the first 3 were old spec, and the last 5 were new spec.gibells wrote:About Alonso's engine allocations. Koboyashi crashed in the same exact place too. So it might be bad luck.Kriss wrote:Petrov once again![]()

http://live.autosport.com/commentary.php/id/29113:34 Ferrari had already planned to change Alonso's engine after the session, with the championship leader very tight on remaining motor life.
He has 4 other engines to practice with. His #8 engine (which has 2 races left in it) will do the final 2 races.segedunum wrote:Hmmmm. That's one less engine he can practice with and any he uses in qualifying and the race in the next two grandprixs will be getting very fine.
How is that a worry? They were expecting it to expire around that time and it did just that. Ferrari's engine management in the 2nd half of the season is going perfectly to plan. It's a bit of a worry that once the engine got anywhere near to its expected end-of-life it simply went.
