People on twitter are being annoying about the fact Ferrari have stuck with the same rear wing - looking at speed trap data, their top speeds are are right up there. Obviously they’re using DRS. Was the stop speed with this wing, without DRS, uncompetitive?
Sounds like a normal day on Twitter outrage for outrage sake 😂
This is a very n00b question, but the rear wing is reportedly unchanged from Bahrain. I can see they’re using the single beam wing, but otherwise the car looks exactly the same as Bahrain, but they’re going some 20kmph faster. How? Does the beam wing account for all of that? Are there other adjustments that are less visible? Just seems a big difference with the same spec car

Will Bearman head out on softs? Given that getting into Q3 is not guaranteed, it makes no sense not to, I think.

I suppose there's some big internal cooling changes that reduces drag. Different cooling requirements here. Are they really going +20 though haven't looked at the numbers really

For not having ever driven the car before, not bad at all.

Wishing Sainz a speedy recovery!

Car looks like on rails. Predicting what should have happened last week already: Charles on pole.

Great news!! The wonders of laprascopic surgery!!
If I come across as blunt, I apologise, it's my ASD. Sometimes, like an F1 car aqua-planing, it gets out of my control.

So they changed the beam wing to reduce drag but kept the rear wing. Hopefully more stable rear and tire preservation.

This deserves to be in the car thread :D

***

Another note, read somewhere online that Sainz was driving with 39°C fever yesterday. I can only imagine how the stomach pain was in the car... Amazing commitment, loads of respect for him. Hopefully 2 weeks is enough to be ready for Australia.
And they call it a stall. A STALL!

Hoping for the first row for Charles and for Ollie not to bin the car.

Bearman incredible. To get out of Q1 after only having driven the car for an hour in such a tight field? Jeez.
