Circuit of The Americas today announced that it has been declared ready to host the 2012 F1 United States GP by Charlie Whiting, who directs racing, safety and technical matters for the FIA. Whiting visited the Central Texas racing circuit as part of a scheduled pre-race inspection and approved the circuit for “Grade 1” status, hence appropriate to host an F1 race.

Simply put, this track won't make it by the August deadline.
So much work is needed to be done in so little time and the EHS/OHS safety officers will refuse on signing off on this project until its sound for all teams, fans and workers alike (this did not apply for Korea, New Dehli as they do not have the same safety laws).
If someone said to me that you can have three wishes, my first would have been to get into racing, my second to be in Formula 1, my third to drive for Ferrari.
The assembly progress of the grandstand seems slow considering that most of it is prefab off site. Is that only my impression or do others think the same? Not that I think they will be in trouble time wise, but it will cost them more equipment days for the big crane.
Formula One's fundamental ethos is about success coming to those with the most ingenious engineering and best ..............................organization, not to those with the biggest budget. (Dave Richards)
