PS: I am not sure what the point is of comparing averages anyway. Much better would be to compare comparable stints with each other to get comparable numbers for similar fuel loads on the same tires. Comparing Bottas and Hamilton would be rather interesting too.
Ps: I don’t necessarily agree - they’re going into different tyres at different stages of the race/fuel levels; even if you’ve got younger tyres and have to nurse them longer, you can still be going slower. To me, the point is to find out who’s stronger over the entire race - so total time or average time.
