Ferrari F2012

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

Based on what I saw in FP3 they aren't really going to turn a corner as much as slide through it.

Looking at the car in today's session there seems to be two possibilities: either they still have a good car (based on Alonso's comments yesterday) and they are sandbagging (by doing heavy fuel runs only), or they have made a truck instead of a car and may barely make it to the top 10 in qualy. :?:

And we still don't know what this car can do in Alonso's hands

I guess Fry was not being pessimistic. Ferrari is in serious trouble. At least Alonso has some set of fresh tires for the race.

Massa better be screening the calls in and out of Maranello

Wow, why is that rearend so loose? Both Alonso and Massa having trouble. Coulthard thought there may be something fundamentally wrong with the car. The front end looks responsive and smooth... but that rearend is all over the place. They couldn't have gotten the set up that wrong on both cars.

There is something fundamentally wrong with the car: it's terrible.

I thought it was a set up issue but after this its probably the car design concept. They need to sort this out soon but is going to be difficult. Mclaren and Merc are flying.

It's amazing to notice that each time Ferrari underperforms, the tifosi scream this same BS...

It's not because we failed this quali session that we must fire everyone and that the season is over !

Look around, and you'll see that today's result is hardly why I think the F2012 is terrible. I described it as DOA about a month ago, and nothing has changed.

The problem isn't Massa. End of story.

You can't do anything if you don't have the trust that the car will stay on track if you push it more.
