Mercedes AMG F1 W04

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

That an old/used sidepod panel as evidenced by the burn marks around the exhaust

The cascade element looks a little bit different as does the support - nothing massive but a refinement none the less

Yeah like its been in a race, I don't think we have seen any new parts yet.

I wonder if the new exhaust will improve the supposedly high fuel consumption
That, and/or stop heating the rear tyres up as much. These developments were explicitly targeted at improving race pace.
If consistently being 7/10ths faster than you is a "mind game", then yes Jenson, Lewis was playing "games" with you.

Only difference I see on the engine cover/sidepod photo is the Mercedes Benz "star" is now there and quite large... seems to be the same shade of grey to me also

I think the panels we have seen thus far are old/used and not the new ones but who knows will find out later today or tomorrow I guess.

The silver on the engine cover looks way different to me. I can't tell any difference with the other photos though.
