It shocked me to learn that other countries don't interrupt sporting events with commercials/adverts.

People actually watch our biggest sporting event just to see the commercials.

Gee!

For me having just returned to the sport that would be a huge let down. I quite like the current cars with all their gizzmos and tech. But let's wait and see what they deliver... Maybe It will still be quite good.

PS For those tech guys please answer my previous questions on page 129 or refer me to post them at the appropriate forum for a reply.

Hi,

I've got a stupid question (stupid because nobody really cares about it) about the rearwing.

In this picture (the best i found) we can see an additional winglet in the middle part of the rearwing. My question is: Was this winglet banned or has it just been dropped by the teams since it was to inefficient? I can imagine with the teams struggling for rear df this year the winglet would make sense although it creates vortices and drag.

Yes I believe it is banned, along with the f duct

I don't know for sure if it (winglet) was banned or not but it wasn't really efficient anymore with the introduction of DRS in 2011, drivers could gain a lot with a good operating DRS system which they could use freely during FP's and Qualifications. I believe the winglet on top of the rear wing created too much drag as well.

I have done some digging in the regulations and found some answers to my questions regarding the rear light but is the diffuser max 350 behind the rear wheel centre line and max 125 above the reference plane?

Proposed 2015 regulations to make F1 more interesting and economical for all.
No Rev limitations. Keep number of engines limitation.
No Fuel usage limitations. No fuel pit stops. Keep gear limitations.
No Tire warmers
No complicated nose wings. Only one piece wings
Restart stalled vehicles if at all possible, even with outside help.
More cars make much better racing.

The ideas seem good but one piece frontwings? Keep them simpler by using strict size regulations and limit the number of 'steps' of the front wings. No changes to rear wings. The tire warmes make it safer at the start but they are banned from next season anyway... The rev limitations are useless, the teams barley use above 11 000. Do not restart cars... unnecacary use of safety car or yellow flags will not make racing better. You have not commented on fuel ammount but I would keep the limit of 100kg. The fuel flow I agree on. With only 100kg let the teams decide the rate... they will have to make it last the entire race...


I agree with cost saving but do keep f1 technicaly interesting, after all, that is what sets it apart from other motor races... the strive for aerodynamic perfection and technological advance...

So amongst others we have titanium skid blocks, parc ferme from FP3 and standing starts (with a couple of exceptions)

I have some doubts about the CFD simulation time (flops per week) limits: how is it possible to check that limit?

Is there a complete list of the changes somewhere? I didn't see anything about Engine Rev limit changed.

Sounds like they are (once again) slowing F1 down. ](*,)

Does this imply someone has implemented a system of differing rotation speeds? What benefit could be gained from this?
