Why won't electric cars be exciting to watch? The difference from a spectating point of view is simply noise, isn't it? If noise is that crucial to motorsport, why don't you listen to races on the radio rather than watching on TV? It's because motorsport is exciting to watch. Formula E will quite likely be exciting to watch. Downforce levels are low and treaded tyres means grip will be low too. What other formula runs treaded tyres and minimal downforce? Formula Ford. It's often the most exciting form of single seater racing to watch at a race meeting, even though the sound of 20 crossflow engines is somewhat monotonous. On that basis, I think Formula E might be quite exciting, especially through the streets of major cities.
