Lewis Hamilton has won the British Grand Prix, his home race held at Silverstone, inheriting the lead of Nico Rosberg following his gearbox failure. Valtteri Bottas is on the podium again in second place while Daniel Ricciardo completes the podium in third.

He didn't loose that much time before he lifted off, not a second anyway. Nico closes up but only because of the braking zones. If Lewis had maintained track position Nico wouldn't have got pole.
That's just the concertina effect, he lost some time, but nowhere near a second. Rosberg was visually much closer to Hamilton when they crossed the DRS detection line after turn 5 than he was when they crossed the start/finish line at the beginning of the lap. Nico's first sector was set to be at least half a second quicker, maybe even more.Diesel wrote:It's here:-
