Tell ya what it’s a bloody good job it was a driver like Hamilton that found that situation in front of him. If it had been a few other drivers who‘s names I won’t mention that could have ended VERY badly.

WOW, that was close from Hamilton there... that could've been a major accident. They really need to properly enforcing/regulator a faster Out Lap. Unfortunately, they'll probably react when we get a major accident rather than respond.
Yes that was a close call. If Hamilton wasn’t on his toes, that could have been real ugly! What’s it gonna take before we see a major accident with these slow cars sauntering down the middle of the track, in this case two side by side?

Since they can only use ICE in one mode, FP3's laptime could be very close to the Q3 performance. They can now only run higher MGU-K mode in Quali.
Someone could have used a "detuned" map in FP3 so that to sandbag and meantime reduce the number of kilometers/minutes run on the higher performance map, because, as far as I have understood they can use whatever map in free practice sessions. From the beginning of the race they can use only one map (except for safety car and formation laps).
Why would they use "detuned" mapping? It's of no use. They have to use the same mode in quali and race. They have to test that mode in FP.

The only engine difference will come from K.

1:19.119 lap record. Probably not with the engine modes and strict track limits in place, but not too far off.

Hamilton looks at sea today, he will do well to get in the top 5 if he doesn't find some pace from somewhere.

Verstappen has got to be the dark horse today?

Didn't watch practice then?

Verstappen was lapping faster than the Mercs with a harder tyre, he didn't get a flyer on the softs.

Reports that Daniel's fuel pump failed so should be any easy fix

If Merc could beat last year's pole by .3 it would be high 18's. With the party mode ban, they may be slightly slower. 19.5 maybe?

Depends where the pump is. If it's the low pressure pump, it is in the fuel bladder. Not so simple. The secondary high pressure pump is on the engine, which means it's easier to access, but may be more complicated to replace.

Looking really close? Do you think Merc didn't turn the wick up just yet until Q1?
