Only reason there might should be a penalty on Sutil is because HE has done it before, and been warned... he has been quite dangerous this year. It seems to be a pattern with him.

Grosjean does not have "IT"... they need to pick up Senna or Di Resta

Senna crashed a lot in sportscars. And that's something you just can't afford to do and is much worse than crashing a lot in F1. He's #1 candidate to become the new Nelsinho.

Wow vettel, that was imperious. I really hope Interlagos and abu dhabi go his way, this could be yet another epic season decider.

Sutil was a bit dumb to crash kovalinen there, given that the first half of the passing move was so good- absolutely perfectly outbreaked him, all he needed was to leave the second apex another half a meter wider and that would have been fine. I don't think he deserves a penalty though; he lost out a fair bit from that move, and it wasn't particularly dangerous...

Unlucky for the Brawns with that safety car, not sure about this Rosberg situation. I guess it's all going to depend on how this lap delta thingy is worked out.

Where else has he done it and when was he warned for hitting other competitors? Not challenging your statement just curious because I don't remember him getting a strong warning for his ontrack behavior rhis season.

Great race overall! Nice to see a dry Suzuka race.

Awesome drive from Vettel, also great drive from Trulli! That is the best driving I have seen in a while from Trulli. That is now two 2nd place finishes for Toyota in 2 races. This is also Toyota's highest finish in Japan. I bet the company bosses are happy to see this, even though it's not a win. The big upgrade done on the Toyota car seems to have really improved the car's performance.

Force India finish nowhere in the race, same with STR. Their cars seemed to have some pace, but not enough, then of course is how drivers from both teams were a mess, especially STR drivers.

Nice finish by Rosberg considering his starting position, and great drive from Raikkonen. Renault back to their previous position, floundering in the midfield.

1.Great drive from Vettel
2.Japanese marshals are literally second to none =D> =D>
*3.Can't believe Fisi let Heikki go by, surely Ferrari are going to have a good dressing down after the race
4.Watching Kubica hound Jenson was really great to see =D>
5.Davis Hobbs called Alonso a terrier!
6.I was very wrong, Sutil ran Heikki off the road badly, I don't think a penalty is in order he did spin after all

On to Brazil!!!! Can't wait!

EDIT: I thought it was funny to see Lewis all cool and chilling out in the room before anyone got there! Awesome!

hehe.. Looks like Fisi is like a layback taxi driver rather a F1 driver. After a great performance in Spa, he got the Ferrari seat, now he is just taking it really easy.

That was rather a nice race, although I did miss the first 20 minutes, didn't wake up in time, fell asleep after my alarm went off
Rather nice race to watch. I really like watching the racing on that track, it makes the cars look fast. As for racing, what was Heikki on? Closing the door like that on Sutil, Sutil had it. Nice racing from Heikki against Fisi, caught him napping.

I'm hoping the rookies, next year, will be much better as they'll be more acquainted with the car.

I'm agreeing there. They need more driving time which kinda sucks. What I also think is a bit worrying, from a spectators point of view, is when the drivers sit in the car after a crash. I'd like to see them pop-out to show they're ok, as if they sit in you start worrying about their health.

From the BBC show, I got this about the driver changes:
Kubica-Renault
Trulli - definetly not in a renault
Somebody for Lotus, because of their link with Mike Gasgoyne(sp?), but I can't remember who.
I did hear that they have to sit in until the marshalls say it's ok to get out for safety reasons.

I'm glad Nico wasn't penalized for a marginal offense. Button was already talking as if the penalty was a done thing. He will have to get more points on track. Sorry Jense, some you loose.

That was a nice race, though I'd love to have seen some more overtaking..

Well done for Vettel, if only he managed to win a race not starting from pole I'd cheer even more for him.

Hopefully some people will now think twice before ranting about the "Trulli train" (BBC commentators included), as he clearly outpaced "The Boss".

Fisico keeps doing mistakes, but if you consider he's only driven this car in a couple of races this far, I don't think he's that bad. He had the 7th fastest lap in the race, did not drift away, and finished right behind Kovi. Without that silly mistake he could have been in front of him.

Now, everybody knows that British TV commentators love to talk about British drivers, but I think today it got beyond the point of silliness: it was as if Button was the only driver in the race! We got lap times, sector times, time difference fluctuations from Rubens, but best of all, we even heard it was a miraculous drive that earned him 8th place and a whole championship point!!!! Come the bleep on! The guy is about to be crowned the next WDC, he is driving what is arguably one of the best cars overall this year and he managed 8th starting from bleeping 10th! What should we have done then had he started last on the grid and won the race (as previous WDCs and non WDCs have done), set up a new religion and worship him? Absolutely ridiculous..

+1

I find it extremely irritating, if it's not Jenson it's Hamilton, you'd think they where the only 2 drivers out there!! [-X

Btw, today proved beyond all doubt for me that KERS is a "cheat button" as when it failed for Hamilton he was 2/10ths minimum slower than when it was working which also proves that the McLaren is still off the pace aerodynamicly! (It really showed in sector 1 even with KERS)

Trulli to Lotus, and possibly Kovalainen to Renault.

Those marshalls are simply as everything else in Japan: F#€|ng efficient! :)

One question, what wasnt Grosjean realeased from behing Vettel in the SC period??? The FIA were doing that at the start of the season, getting the lapped cars out of the way so we can have a more exciting SC restart. This spoiled a otherwise pretty decent race for me.

I was wondering that myself! :?

Btw, Webbo's fastest lap at the end of the race was a nice bookend to a bad weekend! just goes to show how good the RB5 is! 8) Looks like they used the last stint as a test session:
“I had to make two pit stops on the first two laps, so it was all over from there. On the first lap, the headrest came loose in the car, so I had to come in and get that fixed. I went back out, but the same thing happened so I had to come in again in order for the guys to tape it down. We tested some things today, and tried some other items for future races. That’s all we could really do from there.”
I guess that explains the apparently unneeded nose-cone change during the SC period.
