Screwed Norris over with the strategy... Should've been an easy 4-5
What should they have done? They couldn't double stack in the pit lane under the safety car. That would have been a death wish.
It was 6 second gap, they did similar in Singapore 23

Yea I think the soft tyres was the wrong choice in hindsight. Hulkenberg on his hards is lapping within a tenth or 2 of Lando
Yeah, the softs are tired now. Perhaps Norris should have pitted earlier.
Could have gone Hards earlier. But chance of another safety car I guess.

I mean how much more back would Norris be if he had a slight delay due to the double stack compared to what he is now? Would he lose like what 1 second, 2 seconds? I feel like he lost much more by not double stacking.
Let me put it this way. The only other team in the same situation with two cars running one behind another (Mercedes) did the same thing of leaving one car out instead of double stacking.

Lando would have had to stop behind Piastri, then when Piastri moves lando would have had to drive forward and stop in the box. That's at minimum an extra 3.5, maybe even 4.75 seconds extra.

They had a 6 second gap apart. They could have tried the double stack. Surely Norris wouldn't be that far back like now. Still good race. Could have been a 4-5 but I'll take a 4-8 and any point we can get till the first upgrades. We are definately doing better than last year.

Yeah oscar did very well. Both drove a good race, but what was great is that Piastri fought hard. . Within the limits of the tyres.

It was the slow stop with Lando that cost them P7 imo. If they had a normal stop, Lando would have had drs on Bearman with a couple of laps to spare.

Difficult to complain about pitstops though, since the team usually nails them.

This is definitely true. That 4.1 second stop changed the race from attacking for 7th and turned it into defending from 9th

On another note I think we are 3rd in the Championship and were closer to the Ferrari this time, better than Mercedes and Aston today.

Positive takeaway from today is we've overtaken Mercedes in the constructors championship. 28 vs 26 points with tracks that should suit us coming up.

boring race, not doublestacking made sense, it was completely fine,
Lando had a short stick this time, because he was behind in quali, happens

Now Australia should be even better than Jehhda suiting all the strenghs of the car. Expecting to take the fight to Ferrari there before going to Japan and the hopefully first good upgrade.
