concerned about your driver being too happy, toto is still mad that he lost him after offering only offering 1 year contract and give him tractors with experimental setups
LH and Merc may mutually decide to part ways before the end of the season. Lewis may want more time to recharge while Merc can evaluate new driver and keep LH prying eyes from their new development for 2025.
At this point just swap seats with sainz and start early, unless he is going to redbull
Just the tiny issue of breaching two contracts first, no biggie.

A contract is only valid if there are sides that want to uphold it.

And the Sainz side obviously would, he's in a good spot in terms of his driving and the car currently. But I take it venturiation only looked at it from one driver's perspective.

I want to see Mick get another chance though.. But how? I can see it happening if the car is still a dog in October and Lewis gives up his seat to Mick so that Mick can fight for 10th place. By that time Alpine will be faster than us!

If Merc can find a driver that is quicker and more consistent than GR, then Merc would have been in on podium already. So the magic bullet for Merc is to quickly find that driver instead relying LH making judgement all the time.

This might be the best thing to do at this point. I knew it would be an awkward year but it’s even worse than I thought. Maybe put mick in the car and pay Lewis to take the rest of the year off.
Other awkward moments could be spotted all weekend as well. I.e. Toto could be seen not celebrating when Lewis got p2 in the sprint while other garage members were doing so. Just finalize the divorce early ffs.
Lewis would love to do more experimental set ups of his, as long as he can keep his Mercedes behind the Ferrari and scuttle Mercedes for understanding of car development for 2025.

How about finding a better driver than Hamilton? Maybe they would have more than one sprint and GP win. It's funny if someone thinks Lewis is the one who has done a good job since '22. Somehow, this guy named George is beating Hamilton twice in the past three years.

For instance, George's Jeddah quali laps from 2022 to 2024,
1:29.104 (pole:1:28.200),
1:28.857 (pole:1:28.265),
1:28.316 (pole:1:27.472).
Still i'd expect that they at least match the fastest car in terms of development. So from last year to this, RB improved 8/10th, while Merc managed 5/10th. So in total they lost 3/10ths to RB on this track... That's quite a lot.

How about Mercedes building a reliable, consistent and a fast car as an alternative? Any good driver can just cruise away like Max is doing currently and like Lewis did in the past, with a dominant car right? Neither was Max a consistent star in the those dogs that Red Bull produced in the past and nor is Lewis a consistent star currently. Without a good car, every driver looks average, not just George. Even the mighty Alonso gets it wrong at times when he has to hustle a car. So IMO, the second driver is not Mercedes' priority headache.

driver that is quicker than GR will be ahead of LH under current circumstances. so for Merc they should set the bar higher.

I kind of agree that Toto needs to go. I like him as a character and for what he has done for the team over the years. But he can bring no mor3 new ideas as team principal.
He should be CEO then bring Binnotto in as teamp principal.
I think that, should Mercedes look for another TP, they should bring Ross Brawn back. He has shown that he's a good TP, he grasps the technical aspects of formula 1, has a good eye for technical talent and, IMHO, is a charismatic leader. I believe he could have the same effect that Fred Vasseur is having at Ferrari.

Who would it be? There is no choice. With their current shitbox, they are dreaming about Verstappen. They should be glad if they can catch Sainz, who is the best available. The drivers aren't the problem, the car is.

Why doesn’t Lewis make his extreme setups in Free Practice? 3 hours and can start with a extreme setup, go the other way and meet in middle.

Then again, wasn’t this the team that was making excuses in Bahrain GP after 27 hours of testing?
Mess with the Bull - you get the horns.
