Omnicorse.it also pointed out that "mclaren was unable to match their best lap from pre-season on the soft tyres with Button 1.7 seconds slower than the time set by Kevin Magnussen on Day Three of the final pre-season test."
That could be because the track layout for winter testing and for race weekend are different in the last section before the straight.
No they're not.
Just track temperatures are different.
Pointless... the thing is McLaren is evolving.
Alonso and Button's long runs on Saturday were 1min34,1s (average time), taking Alonso (1st stint) and mixing with Button's laps to complete a 'simulation of race' we obtained a 1min34,0s (pretty consistent with those long runs).
When you compare with Sainz and Kvyat, we could be fighting them both at the endo of race: 1min34,3s (average lap times for Both on Sunday).
And Ricciardo's 1min33,7s (average lap time - race) isn't much out of sight.
Omnicorse saying that McLaren is lost...nothing new.
We'll fight the Williams (or at least Massa) in Monaco.
To do something well is so worthwhile that to die trying to do it better cannot be foolhardy. It would be a waste of life to do nothing with one's ability, for I feel that life is measured in achievement, not in years alone. ― Bruce McLaren
