They have missed 2 consecutive days, which equates to missing half the first test. They should have completed many laps with the systems hopefully working fine so that they would be able to focus on improving performance, testing the new 5-element FW, maybe getting some ideas of how to narrow down the coke bottle, try on a new RW etc.
Sad thing is that Nico tomorrow will have to do the basic work he should have completed on Monday, and do at least 110 laps to get as much data as possible. Call me a pessimist but things do not look bright, and this whole situation reflects badly on Mercedes.
It is not about bashing the team, after all I am a fan of the brand. It's about us wanting them to become better and reliability supposedly is one of the major characteristics of Mercedes, which sadly doesn't pass down to their racing cars. Let alone speed as the previous cars showed...
