Now that is a problem.

They have missed 2 consecutive days, which equates to missing half the first test. They should have completed many laps with the systems hopefully working fine so that they would be able to focus on improving performance, testing the new 5-element FW, maybe getting some ideas of how to narrow down the coke bottle, try on a new RW etc.

Sad thing is that Nico tomorrow will have to do the basic work he should have completed on Monday, and do at least 110 laps to get as much data as possible. Call me a pessimist but things do not look bright, and this whole situation reflects badly on Mercedes.

It is not about bashing the team, after all I am a fan of the brand. It's about us wanting them to become better and reliability supposedly is one of the major characteristics of Mercedes, which sadly doesn't pass down to their racing cars. Let alone speed as the previous cars showed...

That's literally designing and building the car in the garage.

Yes, thats what I was thinking..

It is a design thing, to make sure where they have to run..
Does someone know where they are on a F1car??

Could it be that they are running in the (now new for Merc) combined Wishbone/driveshaft Arm??

Maybe they have a problem here.

It could also be a looming problem from yesterday, since they did have that whole area engulfed in flames and burning liquid fuel.

Confirmed that they're not running for the rest of the day.

Better to sit out and get it sorted I guess.

We can only hope for a good productive day tomorrow.

I wonder how many times the word "Hope" has been said at the time to speak about W01/W02/W03/W04

Hi All. I'm new to this forum, been following for a while now. With the limited info on the testing isn't it a bit concerning that Ferrari have spent so much time in the pits. I read they are trying different exhaust solution for the afternoon but still thats a lot of time in the pits for Massa esp since testing is so limited. anyone have any more news from the team?

Jerez isn't a place for extracting performance from a car, this circuit is not representative of what the cars can do. All the performance comes in the next two weeks in Barcelona. Let me repeat myself, this weeks test is to sort out all the bugs from the car not to extract every ounce of performance. It's to make sure everything is running reliably, for one, we don't know how much fuel they're running when they do the runs, or even if they're going flat out. Sometimes they'll go 80% through two sectors and go full out on the third, sometimes it's the first second or third sector. Remember this is testing, not racing, we still have over a month before that happens.

I've only just now seen just how much slotting Ferrari have put across the entire rear wing endplates. It does look very cool.

Thanks guys. I understand that right now it is not about outright performance and is about checking systems and checking reliability but that is still a long time in the pits for Massa and there is no info being given as to why?

Ahh Massa finally back out on circuit
