Vettel could have passed nico ages before but had second thoughts.
Funny people would believe something like this yet refuse to believe Vettel threw a season (in which he had no chance compared to the previous 4 seasons) to land a 30mil/yr drive with his dream team and dream teammate....

Not for nothing, Rosberg's Championship is the only thing that lends credibility to Hamilton's recent success. Otherwise, he'd just be the guy who's had the best car. (Ask the average Vettel fan what that's like.)

I know that this has been said before but Mercedes were playing dirty there. Throughout the season, I was not convinced that Merc were favouring Rosberg. But after yesterday, it became all too clear really.

Merc say that they saw the win slipping away. But obviously, Lewis had to win to keep the WDC and he would have won, given the pace he had in reserve. He had tto back Rosberg into Vettel and Max. By interfering and giving so called instructions, they were trying to force the result really.

Then after the race, Toto comes out and says that he may consider taking action against Lewis for ignoring team orders. I mean this is just ridiculous. So biased. Proved that they wanted the German driver to win for their German team.

Lewis should leave the team. They have been unfair and they need to be taught a lesson. Rosberg cannot carry the team to glory on his own. They need that STAR driver. Rosberg is a good driver and deserving of his WDC but he is not in that bracket of Alonso, Lewis, Max and Dani Ric. Plain and simple!

Nico couldnt choose another strategy to undercut Lewis so I dont see how Mercedes was favouring him. Hamilton was driving super slow on purpose to let Vettel and the RBs overtake Nico but if Vettel would have overtaken him he could have attacked Lewis as well.

Anyway Lewis used all this options, including this one and we had a very tense race which was great. Nico (almost) secured his victory with this awesome overtake to Verstappen, that was THE moment of the race IMO. Nico was under a great pressure and he did a great move, Max was very hard but both did it well.

So it was a conspiracion between Mercedes and Vettel to give the championship to Nico. And well add Max because he didnt collide with Nico when he overtook him. What a hero Lewis is, in his battle against everybody...

Seriously guys...

pd: perhaps you are being ironic, I dont know but I know that some people really believe this.

It was clear by how in control Hamilton was that he had tons left in is locker. He knew it and the team knew it. Otherwise why the order to speed up?
Hamilton speeding up would have benefited 1 person. Nico Rosberg, that takes no thinking at all as it smacks you in the face.

Paddy pleading and crying as well as Toto's reaction post race confirm beyond and reasonable doubt exactly who Merc wanted the title on.

The whole Merc attitude was one of 'How dare you try and win the WDC. Do as you told and hand it to Nico'.

Genuinely I'm struggling to see how anyone can't see the clear favouritism in that race. Putting the luck and bad luck arguement aside for a second Merc showed their true colours in that it's now clear who they wanted as the 2016 WDC and I imagine any fine Merc tried to apply would be laughed at by Hamilton.
Imagine trying to make a case of applying a fine because someone wanted to win in a sporting contest.

Definitely! It's not like Mercedes has a car that's miles ahead of the competition and literally any of the current F1 drivers would've won the title. Oh, wait...

The truth is that these championships belong mostly to the guys at the factory. Even more than Vettel's. That doesn't say anything about Hamilton and Rosberg and their quality as drivers. As such, when you owe so much to those people who have designed and built the car, for whom the race win bonuses are actually important, it's incredibly selfish to act in the way that Lewis did yesterday.

A few things.
1 Merc have already won the WCC.
2 A Merc driver was winning the WDC
3 The race win was clearly in no doubt.
So the designers and builders were in no danger of losing bonuses.

The whole logic of your arguement is built on nothing as a way to try and deflect away from a team favouring 1 driver and towards a driver rightly trying to win a WDC.

Also in 2017 the regs have changed and we are back more towards an aero spec car with unlimited engine upgrades. You think Merc will still be THAT dominant? :wtf:

Both drivers and their fans should NOT forget this. They will have to show how they handle the races when they dont have a second when they need to use it.

Those berating Hamiton. Can you answer me a question?

Being honest what do you think some of the best drivers in history would have done in Hamilton's place?
Senna? Prost? Schumacher? Alonso? Mansell? Laura? Etc? Give me a driver who wouldn't have done what Hamilton did and I'll give you someone who shouldn't be in a racing car.

I am sure he should, also knowing that he could only win the title because of his superior team mate's misfortune and not for his own driving skills. That should make him the most happiest champion ever. :)
