I think it's more like Silver & Red, then .7 behind is Red Bull, and .3 behind it's too close to call.

After the second day of testing I can say with confidence that the cars have not been slowed down any appreciable amount over last year. Maybe they're back to mid late 2017 levels of performance. Mercedes hasn't lost a step knocking out high 21's at the start of their race sim just like last year.

I think Red Bull is clearly the fastest since Gasly couldn't keep it on the track, like a slot car slinging off on a corner. A further 3 seconds back is STR. Then it looks to be Alfa, Mercedes and Ferrari. Then Haas, Renault and Mclaren. Williams is way off the pace based on their showing.

Alfa is "supposed" to be independant as well. But they got basically an junior Ferrari, with a former Ferrari engineer, a former Ferrari driver, a junior academy Ferrari second driver, a Ferrari Group sponsoring and money
And strangely the same front wing concept

This will make other teams even more angry than the Haas situation.

But back to topic, I think Marko was right: New rules changes nothing as car will be as fast as last year

Maybe we'll see... but according to their long runs they are more arround 5/6.

I have a 'feeling' that even though Mclaren are not looking like the vanguard they will be a good all round scorer and have quite a good year while Haas and Alfa slide back a little to be in the same group right behind Renault, possibly headed by STR and Mclaren.

Which ever way we look at it it has to be

Merc Ferrari Div 1 with RBR tripping them up

Renault sort of a couple of steps behind them, but Sauber/Alfa could be there early in the year.

The others are all going to me in a group so close a gain of .2 can move any team to top it . Hopefully Williams will be included, and Hopefully the TV coverage will give plenty of time to this section of the field, cos its where the interest will be.
