Team Lotus T128 Renault

it's a 3d render though, so we'll need to see those specifics at the physical launch
This isn't a 3D render!

btw, im quite impressed with the overall look of the car, I really hope it can challenge the mid-field for the entire season and make that Bahar chap from Proton look stupid!!!! 8)

Those sidepods really remind of the Mp4-24....
Favourite driver: Lando Norris
Favourite team: McLaren

Turned down the chance to meet Vettel at Silverstone in 2007. He was a test driver at the time and I didn't think it was worth queuing!! 🤦🏻‍♂️

I agree this is hard to compare on the current information, but does the car not look really short compared to the Ferrari?
I think both of the cars are in slightly different angle

I don't think we can infer much about the ride height though... as there is nothing in the way of actual suspension yet

Proving that Ferrari aren't they only one that can do subliminal suggestion ...

Launch photos include a message from the factory-floor for Dany Bahar:

I for one am a little surprised at how small the "Lotus" name is on this car. I would have thought they'd have had it plastered all over the place where they haven't sold sponsorship, given the current dispute.

Or perhaps this is the first step in a gentle winding down of the whole businesS?

Shouldn't this be in the "2011 cars" thread?

The wing sits quite far in front of the nose cone.

is it just me, or does the car don´t have a pull rod rear suspension?
perhaps a precursor for the RB7? 8)
could "Lotus Renault" be the only team running a pull rod rear now? (perhaps STR as well)

It runs the new air rod suspension, read back in the thread to see how it works...

Interesting that they should choose to call their press release "Team Lotus Notes", could it be that they've managed to get permission (or sponsorship) from IBM?

Haha, actually that would be REALLY funny if TF did manage to get IBM on-board as well. TF would then be able to cite both the ownership of the "Team Lotus" name, AND the sponsorship of IBM's "Lotus Notes" division... that would be fantastically funny.

We could end up with a team called:
Lotus Notes Team Lotus Renault

Where
Lotus Notes (title sponsor)
Team Lotus (registered team name)
Renault (Engine provider)

Seriously though, that image of the car, am I right in thinking that the FW is being held off the floor on a couple of uprights (bolted onto the back of the wing elements).

Yes you are. The whole car is rasied on supporting pillars - noticeable under the car's front left wheel, and from the shadows (particularily the car's rear left wheel) being wonky.

Of all the new cars revealed today I like the look of this livery the best. Shiny.
