Another admission by the W.H.O... "Oh we got it wrong.. there is very little chance of getting Covid19 from an asymptomatic person".
Lets see,, They were wrong initially about it not being transmitted person to person.. then they were wrong about how long it lived in the air, then they admitted they got it wrong about whether you could easily get it off surfaces ,, then they admitted they got the social distancing thing wrong and now this. Have they gotten anything right?

To achieve anything, you must be prepared to dabble on the boundary of disaster.”

What in the name are you taking about? You should be precise in your quotations lest you be as bad as those you criticise.

That's science! Got to get it wrong a few times till you get it right.

the idea that with study and research you update your guidelines... guess we should have sticked to the first thing that came into our heads. "15 cases and soon to be zero"

I have never failed, but I know 99 things that don't work
When arguing with a fool, be sure the other person is not doing the same thing.
The WHO really need to be more careful with what their staff are saying at press conferences. Van Kerkhove's comments were unnecessary and unprofessional not to mention confusing for us laymen. If she were "just responding to a question" why on earth did she say something that "wasn't WHO policy"? If you can't answer a question posed correctly within WHO policy, then say that you can't answer the question as it is posed. If you can answer it according to WHO policy, then do so.
To be fair, the WHO hasn't really been stellar in this whole affair. At least they are trying to get things done and done properly. This is the opposite of what quite a few world leaders have done and are doing.
Worth remembering that the WHO is a relatively poorly funded body that gets about half of its funding from member states and the rest from other donations. Its budget this year is about $4billion. In contrast, the USA's CDC has a budget of about $11billion. That's nearly 3 times the budget to do basically the same job - improve public health - in a single country as the WHO has to do the job over the whole world. The USA's FEMA has a budget of $28billion. It's their job to coordinate disaster management. COVID10 might be considered such a thing that needs to be managed - 114,000 deaths compared to a natural disaster like Hurricane Katrina's fewer than 2000 deaths, for example. Between them, the CDC and FEMA have a budget nearly 10 times that of the WHO. That's not to say bad things about the USA, please note, it's just to give some context to the WHO's budget compared to scale of the pandemic.
So the WHO has struggled but it's not surprising really. They're not really funded to deal with a fast moving global pandemic. They're funded to provide long term health improvements across the globe in mainly poorer regions, e.g. the almost total eradication of polio, the total eradication of smallpox - a disease that killed 30% of those infected and thus made COVID19 look benign. As someone who can't have a smallpox vaccine (eczema sufferers can have very bad reactions to the vaccine), I'm grateful for the herd immunity afforded by the vaccination programmes.

Now they are walking back the "there is very little chance of getting Covid19 from an asymptomatic person" .
Can't trust anything they say.
Yes they are a political group that is part of the U.N. so that to me calls their trust quotient into question from the get go. It also means they have plenty of money. They fly first class all over the world while staying at first class hotels.

Oh come on. The who is a very trustworthy organisation, who have to jump trough 163 hoops to serve 7 billion people. Praised by all parties and seen by every local health organisation as the gold standard, until the guy who suggested that drinking bleach could be a cure (guess who had to communicate that its not) needed someone to blame for being the worst country dealing with this virus?
Just get off those conspiracy websites, you’re two clicks away from the flat earth society
... Apart from all the political stuff, a guy who thinks drinking bleach could be an option is the only world leader who doesn’t respect the WHO for their research and knowledge. That should be indication enough how stupid this is.

And who follows conspiracy theory sourced "news" from fringe sources. See his latest on the guy that was pushed over and badly injured by police. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/52984295
Anyway, that's politics and the Wrath of the Mods will descend upon us if we don't flee to safer ground immediately.
