A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.
I get the feeling since i saw that Rear Wing support the first Time (The Y Area around the Exhaust) that the huge central hot Air Exit including the Coolers mounted on top of the Intake Plenum will disappear pretty soon.

I know it's been there for quite some Time and i posted my toughts on that some 30 or 40 Pages ago for the First Time. It just looks weird and not like the final Iteration.
From the looks of it something like the Red Bull Solution (surprise surprise ) looks plausible.
Put the Top Coolers in the Sidepods and model the Engine Cover snugly (is that even a word? )around the RW Support. But probably i am overthinking it again. ^^
That's quite radical I think. Rearanging the cooling like you say would mean a lot of changes: The hot air outlets above the floor would need to grow (which probably means all kind of changes at the rear), different weight distribution (different setup), ...
I keep thinking that part should look aero neutral, to not obstruct the hot air from leaving easily, but somehow it must be something I'm not understanding correctly. It's not like they are going to place just any piece that fits the mechanical job without caring about the aerodynamics.
On a sidenote, I don't know if it's mentioned before and I don't know if it's correct: could it be that the upper hot air outlet can be kept somewhat smaller because the exhaust sucks out hot air out of the outlet due to the Venturri effect?
Well some People say there will be a MP4-30B at Silverstone.
About the Venturi Effect: I'm not too fond of how it exactly works but to my Eye the Exhaust Tip is too far behind the Hot Air Exit to make Profit of it.

you're probably right about the exhaust placement. I don't know about the rules but it seems all bodywork ends on all cars at the rear wheel axle and the exhaust has to extend further: http://www.f1technical.net/forum/viewto ... 84#p537984
