Let’s hope there is no further need to lift the car.
I think the seeds were sown over a year ago, in the Monaco 2022 crash. 2023 is just the icing on the cake in terms of keeping rivals aware of the ongoing direction.
Oh, okay. I thought you meant this year, cos obviously that couldn’t be done in a month, not even without the other things they were working on
"Max was 8 tenths ahead but we have a few tough opponents"
"Hamilton was very fast I assume he will be tomorrow too. You know the two are not the best of friends so the primary task is to get past Hamilton"
"In terms of tyre wear and overall performance our car is in a class of its own especially when we have DRS"

The low resolution onboard cam doesn't really help us here either. I would say maybe slightly better than both Alpine and McLaren. Red Bull still look fresh asf.
Also looking less likely to rain, around 50% chance from start to end, very low chance of rain in the AM. I would say nothing conclusive as things can change drastically with the different weather.
This is because after overtaking Piastri Verstappen wasn't really pushing anymore but rather just saving tyres and maintaining/extending the gap at a reasonable level (1s/lap). Before overtaking him he'd be flat or almost flat in eau rouge, but after the overtake he was doing big lifts, up to 20 kmh slower trough high stress corners. He only pushed in low and medium speed corners where degradation is minimal. Oscar was going flatout all the way and I think the longer the race goes the higher the rate gap would extend as wear and degradation would become more prevalent. They also turned down the engine at some point, or at least recovery portion of it.AR3-GP wrote: ↑29 Jul 2023, 20:09You learn something new everyday....except for today...
