I assume Ferrari's sim doesn't colour code the tyres...

I don't see the point of coloured sidewalls in a factory sim, since the colour is only so that the spectators can be able to see the different compounds in action, on track.

If you're trying to make it accurate, and when all it takes is colourising a texture... meh.

Waste of time. And completely irrelevant for a simulator used by an F1 team.
You only do what´s necessary, no need for any more.

1) If you're making a texture for a tyre, it's probably quicker to ask pirelli for their stock one, which will no doubt include all the variations in colour.
2) If you're a driver, and you happen to have suddenly got a bit forgetful ( ) about what tyre you're on it's probably informative.
3) For intermediates and wets at least, you probably want the surface of the tyre to change appearance.
4) Really – this is trivial, for the sake of 3 minutes in photoshop with the hue/saturation slider, it's not worth not doing.

Irrelevant really.

They don´t do rain either in simulators. it´s 100% static environment.

It is still a little early to know, but according to my sources they are predicting rain on Sunday as well, although sunny on Monday, and it could all blow through before the race. But there should be rain this weekend, Sat, Sun, or both. This race could be a mega-lottery!

Monaco 2012 pics

Post

Hi, I took a day off to go to Monaco and take some pics of the cars. If this post has not its place on this part of the forum, feel free to move it.

My camera screen struggled with the sun so most of the pics are far more exposed than I thought : usually my screen is lighter than the pic, it was the other way this time thanks to the sunny weather. Plus it's a compact camera mostly at 250mm without tripod so... I did what I can.
Next year I think I'd buy a proper DSLR and go with it.

Pics are as-is for now. I'll do more clearing and improve the pics later.

edit : damn. Just see that only a third of them were uploaded... Flickr bandwith limitation :?
I'll try with imageshack for the others. But if anyone know a good image hoster, it would be usefull.

Cool pics - and I think you underestimate the demand for higher exposure levels on the F1 Cars thread :D

Do you have any impression of how empty/jumbled/ad hoc the Williams garage looked vs the rest?

Williams box looked ok for me. At least it didn't shook me.
But I should have asked a Williams guy...

The problem with high exposure and my camera is it implies burned whites without detailed blacks
