Ferrari were consistently slower in S2 than Stroll. Couldn't get into 33s until the very last lap. Either that was due to the tires or maybe because Williams/FI ran more downforce.
Either way, tomorrow's race should be interesting. Ferrari are one row behind their usual spot, not much of a disaster if the car works well in the dry.

A bit of timely wake up call after the promising stint in Spa. The points are given out tomorrow. All to fight for still.

What a masterful drive by Hamilton, but also Verstappen, Ricciardo, Stroll and Ocon. Simply unbelievable.
Not for nothing, Rosberg's Championship is the only thing that lends credibility to Hamilton's recent success. Otherwise, he'd just be the guy who's had the best car. — bhall II

The key of the race will be the lap 1 turn 1. Stroll and Ocon on the first 3 spots of the grid is going to be interrsting.

CONGRATULATIONS to Lewis; Driver with Most poles in F1.

What a fantastic drive by Max. Once again, Lewis and Max prevailing in Wet. Mercedes made a very late call to change the rubber and gave very little time to prepare the tyres. Lewis pulled it through with an epic lap.

Lance and Ocon! Really stood out. They start with their career's highest starting position. Though conditions were very difficult, they did not bin it. Good job.
Amen to that. That was some very skilled driving.

There is some talk about Merc probing Verstappen's contract. It would be awesome seeing them battle it out in the same gear.

Though probably Ves would have no measure on that last lap. Hamilton really nailed it.

I guess if Hamilton stays up in front after the start it'll be an easy one for him. I don't see Stroll and Ocon being able to put any pressure on him.

If 2018 and 2019 are good for Mercedes Lewis could reach the 100 mark by 2020

amazing lap by Hamilton! for whatever reason i didn't think he wasn't in any danger getting #69.

aside from the ferrari's, what happened to alonso/mclaren and the 4th best chassis on the grid?

I think Vettel should get second tomorrow. Ferrari is fast enough to get to the top 3 from the back of the grid and the Red Bulls won't be in the way. Merc will mess something up for Hamilton or Bottas and Vettel is consistent enough to pounce on it. Combine it with a rush of blood to the head for one (or both) of Stroll and Ocon and Vettel might even extend his championship lead.

Or, it'll be boring and Vettel will still finish third and minimise his losses. Will be interesting to see how far the Red Bulls get and if Perez manages to get clsoe enough to Ocon to ram him off the road.

Great drive from Raikonnen to put the Ferrari in front of Vettel. Also great drives from Stroll and Ocon who both have points to prove. A shame Bottas couldn't get heat into his tyres, would've been good to see Hamilton pushed more. Finally, VD edges out Alsono...not what I'd have predicted at all.

Yep it could be that with a very low downforce setting FER couldn't heat much full wet tyres. Well we'll tomorrow if anything changes, it doesn't bode well for FERRARI anyway
Nah some other reason. Lauda said the order of downforce of the top three is Ferrari then Mercedes then redbull.

WHAT AA QUALI IT WAS!!!!

That's something we all have been waiting since the start of 2017. There is still 20% chance that it might rain tomorrow and I am praying for that to happen.

Stroll has earn some respect since Montreal and Baku, and now he looks consistent with his performance and Ocon just proved his critics(if there are any) wrong in how good he is. Will be interesting to see battle between these two young driver, I think Williams has some pace under dry condition to at least challenge SFI for few laps.

But I want to see these two overtaking Lewis by the first turn, that'll be mega.

BTW, congrats to Lewison 69th pole...

Nah, downforce still goes to RedBull then Mercedes = Ferrari. Ferrari mostly relies on traction of the engine and that has caused the lack of speed today. They just couldn't get the corners right.

Nail biting session. It wasn't the engine after all eh, was it ? :)
