Oracle Red Bull Racing RB19 Speculation Thread

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

Apparently, the RB19 moved from an air-air intercooler to an air-2-cooler.

Just think back to the last few pages of the RB18 speculation thread, the car had multiple sidepod inlets, a t-wing/2nd wing, boomerang shaped wishbones and a Z shaped shark fin
The phantom t-wing/2nd wing is my favourite. That seemed too believable

It looks just like a slimmer and trimmer RB18. Will probably be lighter and it looks like they have put the paint back on the car.
With the new front wing and floor change because of the fw the change is pretty big
No it isn't. I'm not seeing anything on the front wing other then there is some extra yellow paint which makes it look like a larger new nose. The engine cover does look smaller and the sidepod looks to have had some work done to it. I'll wait until we get some clearer imagery before making wholesale announcements about what has changed from rb18.

Redbull car was best car with Ferrari over there. When we consider porpoising Ferrari is also clearly behind redbull. So in this condition why you wanted to make big changes ? Normally you would not want.
But what if they have found something with the floor but could have not applied it because of rb18's structure ? Same for side pods too. Maybe they could not change it's shape as much as they wanted because of engine layout when they had a big update there.
I think there is relatively big changes on new car. Nose, front wing, floor, sidepods and maybe more. Otherwise they would not hide so carefully.

Team wear is 2023, and the livery/sponsors on the RW endplates match the 2023 car

If this is rb19 seems the drs mechanism layout is the same as before

Can't see anything especially interesting other than that. Seems similar to last year all in all

I think the car does not have a simpler sidepod like scarbs suggested. The side wash ridge or hump on top of the sidepod, that aston martin copied, is very much still there and even more aggressive.
Also it seems the sidepods have less undercut and that's where the bigger flank may be true. It's all hard to tell.
I do agree with the other stuff like the front wing etc. I think the front wing changes are because of the increased height for the floor edge.
For some reason, I feel redbull will go extreme on cooling with this car and have some reliability issues. It seems unlike them to go conservative and have an RB18b.
For Sure!!

That is pretty heavy speculation that you are posting.

Red Bull and HPD are independent companies. There would not have been any tech transfer. Red Bull don't need HPD to do a new inter-cooler design of they wanted to do one.

Just imagine if they are one of the first to release their 'designs' and others copy, but they roll out with totally different designs come the GP soon.

What's so special about the DRs mechanism?

Nothing special, but too flimsy so it kept oscillating and breaking
