wow, no wonder he couldnt'keep up with button, all the more impressive how he indeed managed to stay at front so long and stronglyJoseki wrote:https://pbs.twimg.com/media/CSRW-ScWUAEAdIu.jpg
Fernando's pace was really good considering the damage on the floor.
He was the only one with the new engine (but got spun by Massa and had to drive the entire race with a damaged floor). New FW, floor, ... were available for both cars.proteus wrote:u all writing like button cant drive at all. He drove strong as well, and dont forget that Alonso was the only one getting the newest upgrades if im not mistaken.
What do you mean couldn't keep up whit Button? Since lap one,up until last SC all the time Alonso was reducing the gap.Manoah2u wrote:wow, no wonder he couldnt'keep up with button, all the more impressive how he indeed managed to stay at front so long and stronglyJoseki wrote:https://pbs.twimg.com/media/CSRW-ScWUAEAdIu.jpg

It's absolutely ridiculous. You'd think by now they would be able to run each internal combustion engine reliably for several races, but no ..Teammate Button, meanwhile, is set for a double engine change.
The Briton will use a new spec engine in first practice on Friday and then another - also of the latest spec - for the remainder of the weekend.

No it is about getting a free engine just in case. If you´re going to start from last position it doesn´t matter if you put one or two new engines into the car, so better use two and you can test different mapping with the peace of mind of having an spare engine if there´s some problemME4ME wrote:I disagree: it is about reliability. Alonso didn't race his engine in Russia. If reliability wasn't an issue then he should be able to use it in the US as well as the remaining 3 races. Button even takes 2 completely new engines for 3 races ..

Remember this is a test season and testing usually brings unintended consequences
