Newly gone and RB in decline mode. It will be interesting season for Fans. RB Ferrari McLaren in championship contenders this year. Next year will be more close battle.
It would be difficult year for Max 2024 and even difficult for 2025. as a F1 fan it will be very interesting like 2007.

of course it was the new PU, AFAIK if the FIA releases the document for the new PU (like yesterday for the RB) it means that the car has exited the pitlane with the new elements installed; in fact I did not quite understand that comment from Marko, maybe one of his usual blunders
They did not change all parts, though, so it could theoretically be an old ES or CE causing the issue.

Apparently the old engine was in the car for fp2
Helmut Marko confirmed this to Motorsport.com in the paddock, but said that the exact cause has yet to be found. "It's a problem with the engine. We now have to take the engine out of the car to find the exact cause, but it is certainly on the electrical side of the engine." Judging from the FIA documents, Verstappen has also added a new power source to his so-called pool today, but Marko emphasizes that the new one is not broken. "No, this is not a new engine, but an old one."

why would they switch back to the old engine for FP2, though? Normally this never happens. I'd think it's more likely that there was some kind of misunderstanding.

edit: in the Youtube video, Vording quotes Marko as saying "As far as I know, this was not the new engine, but an old one", by the way.

RBR has ALWAYS had very many technical problems. Also with Newey onboard. 2023 was an exception and even that year Max needed to take grid penalties for components.

no way they changed the PU between FP1 and FP2, most logical explanation, giving Marko said the truth, is that some old electrical components had problems, as search suggested.

ERS fault could mean MGU-H, MGU-K, or ES. According to the official documents, the energy store (ES) was not new this weekend. Only ICE, Turbo, and MGUs are new.

I suspect electrical short due to water getting in during Max's trip through the slip and slide. Probably too many openings that put the electrical components at risk.

Comments from Max, Checo, Horner and Marko seemed largely positive about the car's behaviour and setup after fp2, despite the setback on Max's side

Seems to reflect what @Ar3 was saying about good behaviour of the car despite limited running. A rarity for the rb20

Checo said there was quite a large difference between Max and his own base setup this weekend interestingly

Also a quote from Italian Motorsport about kerbing issue from max
Max expects a complete solution to the kerb riding issue will be seen on next year's car

"I think it's necessary to work on the design of the car. I expect improvements in this season, but the complete solution will probably only come with next year's car."

Not really ideal. Least everything else should be good however.
