Mercedes GP MGP W01

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

I thought that was just the "mounting" for their half-donut f-duct thing? :?

Merc not looking too bad, especially in Rosbergs hands.

Schumacher has mentioned an "unstable rear end", but with these cooler conditions in FP2 it appears Mercedes can at least use the option tyre effectively.
More could have been done.

Could someone explain to me how the new rear wing works?
For me it looks like something is "missing" in the middle part of the wing.

That is a slot for the F-duct which runs up the rear wing supports.

hey ..c´mon, Pastit was a huge 2 tenth slower than Rosberg ...you would not interpret something like a superiority for Brittney into it ,would you?

It looks new to me and it is actually!

I'm wondering why the front wing has remained intact :?:

I personally think Mercedes didn't use the F-duct today. They were around the top ten in silverstone for top speed, and this refined F-duct is meant to work more effectively. We will see by FP3 tommorow morning

Also being that slow and 6/10ths off Alonso is quite an achievement in itself. Maybe Mercedes have a surprise for us? [-o<

Looks like the ferrari, but simpler. Something tells me these Honda guys don't really know what they are doing.
Nothing innovative on this car besides a roll hoop. The diffuser is very simple compared to even the sauber.
Mercedes showing their true "earth dreams" colours, now that the big money is gone.

IMO even with the big money the only reason they dominated(at first) was the extended development time and the DDD debacle....

imo the more i look at it the more i think the car is crap, there is no pace at all in the car, and i doubt it is the tires, tires might be a problem but even if that is solved they wont be going anywhere better.
