Oh my! You almost wonder why they didn't do that to begin with, guess they'd be revealing too many sidepod details that the matte black hides.

I think they have managed to make use of the rear suspension as a second 'rear low wing' but then slightly better (higher). I haven't seen that on the other cars though (maybe lack of eye sight on my part). But using that in a combination with the high rake, it seems to me they can blow a whole lot of air on the diffuser with all of that combined.

Very curious about tomorrow and what we will see there.

Note; the enigne sound of the Honda has improved a whole lot. Still the raw edge, but with more synergy

The high wishbone thing, was from the brawn days with bgp car and the 2011 mercedes i think.

The livery actually looks good when the car is on the track.

I'm still none the wiser about how they're getting air into this thing. They have half the inlet area of anyone else. :?

True, it reminded me also of the Brawns although, if memory serves right, it was more aimed on the diffuser instead of the whole rear of the car. Now it seems, with all combined, it is more aimed to the whole package at the rear.. all speculation though!

And a big yes for me on the livery in broad daylight!

That's a lot of clean air going to that rear wing! :o Size zero for sure in this regard. I don't think more is possible.

Hi guys,

We had some chit chat in the IRC on some of the last season's races. As an official presentation at the forums:

https://twitter.com/movistar_F1/status/ ... 1278623744

Starting from the front part of the car, look at these three orifices on this extension of the junction between the front and the wing. Last season it was just one, this season we are going up to three to try to maximize the amount of air that goes underneath the front wing, which was also redesigned with one more flap. Going back we can see, that for example the (please correct me on this one) <blower bushings?> have been closed but the s-duct has been kept.

On the center part of the car we can see the interesting job done by the Woking guys in the badgeboards area, much bigger and separated from the chassis and with three vertical divisions. Badgeboards that leave us in the zone of the flux deflectors, so much alike the ones in the Renault with a more anticipated base and also a really careful job in the refrigeration intakes on the pontoons trying to make them as small as possible to leave the bottom zone empty to allow the greatest amount of air possible to the back part of the car.

If we keep going backwards we see the shark fin and the most prominent part of this rear wing, these side plattens with these wing extensions on the curved area.

Ultimately, an innovative McLaren in some way, stylished and without the radicality and the daring bets of the Merc and the Ferrari, but, if what is inside the hood, if the engine allows, I think it is prepared to look upwards to the podium. We will see if that is possible.

No mention of the rake. Sorry guys.

the car looks seriously promising.

Let's see what 18month car development, and 9 month PU development can do
Finishing races is important, but racing is more important.
