You know what is most painful? Even if Bottas is faster than Ham in Monaco (he probably is) the race is over (despite of SC etc). If Ham will be 1st after 1st corner - race is over.

When was the last time that Bottas was on Lewis' tale for the whole race in a grand prix? Generally speaking, none of Hamilton's team mates would be at his tale in a GP once he is ahead. So, to say, Bottas would be faster in race, is an overstatement.

Also Ferrari 7/10th’s away from Mercedes and 2/10th’s away from RedBull around a quick lap like Monaco is really damning.
More or less as expecred, no?
Prediction: Bottas to be 1st at the first corner. The Start-finish line has messed up with all pole sitters so far this year.
In most cases, the majority is below the average.

Bottas 2.0 is no different than the 1.0 bottas. Bottas was always good. He was quicker than Massa and Massa wasn't slow by any means. What is happening here is bottas knows the tyres better than Hamilton and is extracting more from them earlier than Hamilton can.
Lewis isn't the sharpest tool in the shed, but once he goes under pressure and loses a few battles, he then figures out what is going on around him then he adjusts his mind and then ups the levels. Very adaptable and can maintain a supreme level of performance for longer than his teammates.
As said before Bottas will crumble away by time we get to Belgium. This is why Ferrari need to sort themselves out and get on top of the situation.
For Sure!!

I’m not saying it isn’t. It doesn’t stop it being damning though. Even more so when the other Ferrari qualified 16th.

Cause of shitty aero rules? You lose grip = you can't drive on tale? It was obvious today that Bottas had better pace, he lost P1 casue of traffic. I am talking about Formula 1 nowdays - race is over after 1st corner mostly, there is no matter if anyone is faster than someone...

Not true! Lewis managed many times to overtake Rosberg in regulations where following was even harder and Rosberg finished his career without overtaking Lewis on track.

Did you see Lewis behind Bottas in Baku? Lewis behind Kimi in Monza 2018? Just in last race, Bottas was 11 seconds behind in each of the stints. Talking about this race, importantly, on Friday in FP2, Lewis was on an average 3 tenths faster than Bottas. So, Bottas can't be faster than Lewis in race.

The run to the first corner is the shortest on the calendar and even if driver starting second is side by side, the racing line would be owned by driver starting on pole, which is enough to lead.

No Lewis in general has been faster than his teammates on race days...in this pirelli era lewis has been only vulnerable to his teammates during qualifying... nothing to do with aero rule, if aero is only thing holding his teammates then they would finish just 2 to 3 sec behind him rather than the + 9 to 11 sec average we have seen from bottas
