Can't help thinking this is going to be another Hungaroring. One overtake possibility at the end of the start/finish straight, the rest of the lap is going to be processional stuff.
That's alright. As long as it is better than Sochi and Paul Ricard, it will do. Hungaroring is rather a good track, I think. Rather a classic track compared to some of the recently built circuits.

Still wondering why they didnt complete the job by

-Giving the whole track a new layer of tarmac
-Demolish the old pit and grandstand and build completely new ones to modern standards.

That way it would be completely new with the legendary aspect in tact.

And please dont say money because the owner is a member of the Royal Family and has like 500 houses in Amsterdam in his posession (he is considered quite a horrible landlord)

You don't expand to 500+ homes in the Amsterdam area throwing money at buildings that already there ;-)

Well in this case he got those homes because of his inheritance and family wealth. But point taken.

20 February 2020 Zandvoort CEO:

Robert van Overdijk, the CEO of Zandvoort, was present during the test weeks in Barcelona. On the first day Jack Plooij managed to get the Dutchman on his sleeve, van Overdijk came with good news.

"We are done with asphalting. Of course a number of fences still have to be placed, but the top layer of the circuit,
the layout, is on it! Fantastic."

Pirelli has asked Formula 1 teams to try a special Zandvoort prototype front tyre in next week's second Barcelona test, ahead of its possible deployment at the Dutch GP.

F1's tyre supplier says it is still assessing data on the newly re-worked track, which now features a high-speed banked final corner to aid passing into turn one and has also been resurfaced.

What would be the chance of a 2005 USGP repeat, with tyres blowing out in the banking?

None. In fact, Barcelona has proven more dangerous today with the Haas tire blowing out.

That was the teams' fault according to Steiner, the tyre was rubbing against the floor. IIRC.
