McLaren MCL60

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

I see that nobody has picked up on the cover on the mclaren floor?

Is there indeed a tunnel here? Is that permitted?

provide a photograph of what you see that is intriguing? It's hard to comment otherwise

I think he maybe means the one over the SIPs, but that's there for obvious reasons - you couldn't get the floor on or off without it.

Panels are exactly that. Panels. They're not all magically hiding some trick or hole or vent. They're just covers, for access.

He probably means the alleged "hole" in the floor that was discussed in the previous pages. As there is no hole, it was probably a shadow.

I"m assuming the channels referred to earlier are the mini diffusers in the floor below that line up with the bottom of the brake drum winglets

Interesting. I like it.

I’m struggling to put together photos to illustrate my point, but it looks to me like Mclaren is running different sidepods than they were in the shakedown. They had channels going down in the shakedown, and they looked much flatter today. Any theories? Maybe checking correlation?

Did we see that new bottom that McLaren was hiding from everyone? In the photos from the tests, I did not see anything new and supernatural, rather an evolution of last year's decisions.

One or two teams have also dropped the double bib/keel. I think Ferrari being one of them.
