Unbelievable really.
I mean, if Toro Rosso chooses not to attend the hearing, then FIA must act as Tsunoda's representative.
This is appalling beyond believe and a really, really bad look from RB. You've won both championships, you could totally afford to look chivalry here.
It is not a fair sport if one team runs with 4 drivers.

The stewards noted AlphaTauri unusually chose not to send any team representation to their hearing on the incident between their driver and Verstappen.
Red Bull admitted they had failed to warn Verstappen about Tsunoda until he was almost alongside. The stewards handed Red Bull a €5,000 (£4,308) fine and gave Verstappen a second reprimand, a decision they said was consistent with previous decisions made for similar incidents this season.

Fact Car 2 unnecessarily impeding Car 18 in turn 8 at 21:04.
Infringement Breach of Article 37.5 of the FIA Formula One Sporting Regulations.

Decision Reprimand (Driving) on the Driver.
This is the driver’s 1st reprimand of the season.
The competitor Williams Racing is fined €5,000


Reason The Stewards heard from the driver of Car 2 (Logan Sargeant), team representative and reviewed positioning/marshalling system data, and team radio evidence.

Car 2 clearly impeded Car 18 at Turn 8.
However in mitigation of penalty for the driver, the Stewards considered the fact that the team made no radio communication to warn him of the approach of Car 18.
It is essential, especially in Qualification, drivers be given sufficient and accurate warning of the approach of another vehicle.
Accordingly and consistent with previous decisions, a fine is imposed on the Competitor, who admitted that it had failed to provide an appropriate warning.
It is noted that the Team Representative of Aston Martin Aramco Cognizant F1 Team was not present at the time of the hearing but did attend the Stewards' Room after the Hearing had finished.

But still, if it had been Alonso costing Tsunoda his lap, I guess the end result would have been a 3 place penalty, after someone from Toro Tauri would have shown up?

Yes, I think that’s about the strength of it.

This really shouldn’t be happening. I don’t understand why Marko didn’t just tell AT to turn up and then RBR would take the penalty to demonstrate fairness. It’s not 2021, the season is over regarding the WDC and WCC, do records and winning meaningless stats mean so much to RBR?

I have a dirty theory.

That being the stewards didn't penalise him so they couldn't just negate it with a setup change and new parts without hurting themselves even more.

I'll go grab my tinfoil hat.

yeah, Wolff said so as well before Qualifying, because they expect it to bring them in a better position for the race - although not sure how. Probably only in case of a late Safety Car.

There was a suggestion it's on the cusp between 1 and 2 stop.

A 2 stop puts them in a better position vs those with 1 new medium and 1 new soft IMO.

Highest pit stop time loss of the season with lowest pit stop speed limit. It is extremely narrow aswell. Staying out of the pits is crucial. Overtaking is hard here so perhaps track position will pay dividence.

It will only come into play with a multiple SC race, which isn't completely unlikely. I don't see it being used during an ordinary race.

I predict a M-H strategy.

Not conceding positions at the start will be crucial so the softer compound will help with that.

In my opinion, no.

Pretty much everyone complained about overheating on the S. Race is the same time as qualy so they'll have representitive data.

CORRECTION: It is an hour earlier so overheating should be even more of an issue

With the balance issues clearly evident in that car, I don't see how he can make up that kind of deficit. I know we're used to him storming through and maybe on higher fuel it might be a little better.
That being said, they spoke of the car bottoming out in braking which won't be helped by a heavier car.

The problem is they made major setup changes that completely screwed over the balance and drveability. Their FP2 long runs were on a different setup and a different floor, so who knows how representitive those were.

These changes aren't allowed to be reverted under parc ferme. If today was anything to go by, it does not looked too good.

I wish them the best of luck though.
