Too many GPs like Singapore where the chassis is not capable to compensate PU limit; Red bull is ages ahead in this sense and im afraid our beloved Mclaren team won't be competitive next year with top teams, even with a better engine.
This isn't new, McHonda are about 4th in both chassis and PU.
- Yes, lap times suggest they're far behind the top 3 (Alonzo restated that last week).
- Yes both the chassis and the PU have to make a major jump next year if they want to compete for wins.
- It isn't a secret that Boulier was hoping the chassis would be closer to the front.
I'm sure, everyone at McHonda are aware of all this and working towards making the changes needed.
You know, there is no guarantee that Merc or RBR start the 2017 with a great chassis. They could suck major wind.
The last major change in aero rules, RBR struggled like everyone else. They just caught on faster than everyone else. so that's what I'm expecting next year chassis wise. Out of the gate they'll be all pretty even. Then as the season progresses we'll start separating the men from the boyz.
