i added somehting below the pic to ponder or debate.... check it outHail22 wrote:Only time will tell however now we have a debate going here! below the suspension arm or above the P for Petronas logo
for oen the exhaust outlet will be on top of the airbox.kris wrote:could you explain?Raptor22 wrote:that exhaust outlet will be problematic to make work
And lose a ton of energy.Gerhardsa wrote:maybe the exhaust is further back so they can "blow" a bigger area of the floor and diffuser because of the gas-spread/expansion?
Does anybody know at which speed the Exhaus gasses escape from the very end of the pipe ? For example at max rev.Hail22 wrote:Blowing hot gas onto the suspension arm/blade thus giving downforce? also remember that Mercedes engines have a cold blowing feature due to engine design (run off feature), thus it could be a double bonus for them.
Yeah, it is further up on the sidepods, above the P in Petronas. I think it was Brawn who stated they had several exhaust configurations to try out in testing. This is the configuration I expected, something similar to Sauber.Gerhardsa wrote:this is a blow up of the higher res pic.
I still think the exhaust is above the P from the sponsor logo
mind you..it can still have the same funtion as putting it right by the suspension if they implement the type of solution that Mclaren and Ferrari are doing with those cut outs/slots, dragging the gasses down and under the suspension arm onto the floor and over the diffuser. im just wondering...if it is so far up the sidepods, wont they lose more "energy" from the gasses, as to when the exhaust outlet being right by the suspension arm?
just thinking out loud here
An F duct at the rear suspension? hmm.. i dont think so mate.VarioR wrote:Can't they have 2 exhaust exits?
Over the "P" is an exhaust exit for sure because the engine cover is a little bit burn (yellow) after the exit but it realy looks like there is a second exit near the suspension.
Could it be the exit of an F-duct??
Too many questions..
Hard to tell, but maybe along the same lines(and by that i mean same concept), but it does not seem to be that extreme on the merc. again... its very hard to tell from the picsretpog55 wrote:Similar to this or not?
Now we know how the mirrors are(different from what we saw in the last two years) and we have an idea about how the nose will look like.Crucial_Xtreme wrote:
