And would letting Max go an extra lap when he wouldve been more at risk from cars that had already pitted not have been throwing him under the bus. Perez is up in 2nd with a bit of luck and if he wants to prove he can win the race, he should go on and do it from here.

max was 4.2 seconds a lap faster

Checo only has himself to blame for dropping that much time in one lap on tyres up to temperature.

They did that how exactly? Perez got better strategy at the first stop, came 13s ahead, and managed to reduce that to less than a handful in a few laps. If there was any bus here, Perez jumped in front of it himself (or, max is just doing an exceptional job. Or maybe both)
