Sainz in a Williams qualifies ahead of Hamilton in a Ferrari.
Talk of poetic justice.

Everybody at Ferrari should be slapped with wet salmon if they turn to focus on 2026.

You went with a new design because the returns were high. If you don't realise it, you'll never learn from the mistakes.

Fix the bloody car. Just one update that does what it shows in simulator.

Then move away to 2026.

Also hopefully some pics of the McLaren floor will come through for these fellows to understand why theirs work.

Else you're just shooting in the dark without knowing why you went wrong.
This. What was all the talk about higher development ceiling if they are going to abandon it. They need to develop this car all the way till the end.
And fall behind on 2026? At some point, there will be no point. And you might spend the whole year looking for answers that you never find.

Also, never fall for PR speak.
Red Bull fought till last race in 2021 and came with a great car concept for 2022 which gave them 3 more WDC.

Don't give me this BS about focus.

Also Ferrari wasted 2021 to focus on 2022. How did that go exactly?

Waiting for Vasseur's "the gaps in qualifying were very small, you never know how things will go with the changing track conditions, we'll keep our heads down and focus on ourselves" speech...

what does he supposed to say, car is bad, and throw the technical team under the bus?

Leclerc really can’t strain much more out of the car than he is right now. He really deserves a car as epic as the MCL to see what he’s truly capable of.
Part of me is glad this is the last year of these cars as Ferrari have never seemingly got to grips with the floors as well as the other teams, I just hope we’re not held back for another 2 seasons because of the next gen engines.
Tiring at times following this team, I respect the bold changes they made during the winter, but there feels a real distinct lack of accountability over the repeat shortcomings behind the scenes.

Be honest - we are not fast enough right now, no sugarcoating with talk of "potential", explain what steps are being made to rectify the errors.

I would like to say that Vasseur is probably under pressure to get it spot on in 2026. Mercedes have totally leapfrogged us and the other top teams left us behind.

Red Bull were a well oiled machine. Ferrari, less so…split focus just increases the chances of dual failure.

Also, Ferrari were good in 2022…until the TD.

Sometimes you just have to accept defeat and move on. This is professional sport, not a school project.

Fred said at the start of the season that we need 5 races to see where everything stands: 5 races in, I think we can very clear that we’re 3-4 tenths off (at best). That’s not horrendous but it’s also not good enough to have a realistic shot of fighting for wins.

Weirdly, I still don’t think we have a great sense of the race pace. Probably the gap is the same but I sometimes get the impression that if not for track position/traffic/strategy it might be a little closer.

The key for me is if there really is something that resembles a “fix” here or if the car is just not as fast. If there’s a part coming that fixes ride height then that changes the ballgame and there may be potential in this year. If not, I don’t think there’s a lot of point throwing significant resources at 2025 and the blessing in disguise could be the ability to move on to 2026 more so than rivals.
