Mclaren MP4-30 Honda

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

A reflection. Or you're talking of the sidepod winglet

Almost certainly a driver cooling inlet since the new nose no longer has an inlet on the tip.

it looks more like a reflection of right mirror. If you look closely you can see that reflection of mirror mount extends all the way from where mirror is on the car to that spot

Also you can see that there is nothing on the car in that place

80 laps and counting, no breakdowns in two days, let's hope this is the start of a turnaround [-o<

If they were running with the power down during this test, McLaren is closer to the front than everybody think, because with the actual differences, even if they are representative, when they can run at full power, if someday they can do it, the differences will be almost cero. The big question is when they are going to run at full power with a good reliability.

At least for this test: =D> =D> =D> =D> =D> =D> =D> =D> =D> =D> =D> =D>

Report: Austria Day Two

Fernando Alonso

“Today was a positive day. The most important thing was to put some laps on the car after the problems we’ve had in the last couple of races. We managed to complete more than 100 laps, and, together with Stoffel’s laps yesterday, I think we finished the test with some good information. Now, we need to go back to the factory and analyse everything, but we definitely have a lot of data to go forward with. I’m pretty happy with how the test has gone.”

Dave Redding McLaren-Honda Team manager

..The morning session began with data and system set-up checks followed by aero correlation tests, which included fitting the new shorter nose. The afternoon session was dedicated to further aero testing of a range of new bodywork components, tyre assessment, and further power unit functionality tests...
