Huh?

In their "second year" Ferrari went from the worst engine to almost equal with the best, went from 4th in the constructors' championship to 2nd and won 3 races.

In their "second year" Mercedes won 16 of 19 races and won the drivers' and constructors' championships. Same as in their first year.

They did this and supplied other teams with PUs as well.

How did Honda exceed Ferrari and Mercedes?
Mclaren in 2016 is 62 points while TR is 47 points with arguably better chassis than Ferrari.
compare qualy times of 2015 Mercedes and Ferrari and 2016 MClaren.
para bellum.

I think Jenson commented on that very tiny sweetspot for the Frontwing too a few Times. The Fact they brought so many (some drastically different) FW Iterations this Year shows they are not completely Happy with what's going on there.

Hasn't it been a problem for a few seasons now?
I recall Jenson often say 'maxed out in front wing'
I think I've even read an other article (might even have been Mark Hughes) about it a few years ago.
New aero regs should sort it for them

Since at least 2011 Mclaren have had problems with correlation and aero philosophy, the article provided further evidence that it hasn't been resolved yet.

EB and staff said multiple Times the Wind Tunnel correlation is very good now. Seeing that almost all their developments worked this Season (bar the Endplates of Justice) i tend to believe that statement.

If it is true that the FW is the Problem i think it has more to do with them having Problems wrapping their Heads around what to achieve and how.

It's only Mark Hughes...

Take his technical insights with a grain of salt.

Please! Mclaren has bragged about good correlation the past 2 seasons.

Well, to be honest, this piece seems to be thought through better than most from Hughes.

"We are very strong under braking and into slow corners,"

I see he left out exiting slow corners or didn't just use "slow corners". :(

Which means they need to improve on exits of slow corners.

Must have missed something, why the negative opinion about Hughes? In my opinion he is one of the best technically oriented journalists out there.

I think you've took that last paragraph out of context?
Doesn't he mean 'high speed corners, we still don't really know' (how competitive we are relative to the competition)

Just my thought.
