Interesting; although you got to remember that the Pirellis this year are different (harder) than last years, so its hard to draw a decent conclussion regarding the lap times.

Could have a set old noses as they might only have a new nose each at this time for button and Alonso. I did read somewhere that McLaren said they are going to be making part's and bringing to the circuit right up until sunday morning.

What's the point of bringing parts on sunday morning? Doesn't Parc Fermé prevent them from being used?

But I think teams can make adjustments to the car about an hour before the start of the race. Also before and after drivers get to the grid they still make adjustments.

Is there any evidence they are using an axial compressor ? Personally I doubt as I don't think you can generate the pressure ratio needed.

I don't think adjustments includes bolting new upgrades on the car.

Presumably they could bring say a new spare nose (or other parts) on Sunday, that would allow them to race with the new nose even if they don't have a spare available for Saturday?

The Strategy Group met yesterday in Biggin Hill, as planned, to follow up on the package of measures proposed at the last meeting and assess new directions for the future of Formula 1. It was a very constructive meeting, which led to approval of important decision and innovative evolutions.

Furthermore, it was agreed to allow an extra power unit per driver in the first year to any new manufacturer entering the championship and, for the sake of fairness, the measure will apply retroactively to Honda for the 2015 season.
