Are these current pictures? Can't see how they would possibly be in time to develop the 2026 car in the tunnel if so.
They are from April.2024
BTW it was never the plan to develop the '26 car in the new windtunnel. The '27 car will be the first fully developed in the new windtunnel.
They've lost half a year or so, because on the original location they had some initial objections from the UK Railway Network, and the local Council.
Local councils  I'm not even British but their reputations precede them.
Isn't it good that a local council has enough clout to stop a corporate bulldozing places and disturbing homes and communities? In many other countries, people have no power even in legally right position, to stop corporates overrunning them as the administration and governments are so deeply corrupt that they stand with corporates in every crime.

In this case it was not related to bulldozing places and disturbing homes because the building was already there. It was a former warehouse of a bathroom equipment company. It had something to do with water, a minor thing that could have been solved, but the UK railway network concerns were bigger IIRC.

what do you think about FP3 ? will they align with Ferrari/Mercedes using 1 medium and 1 soft saving one new soft for the race, or they will save one more medium using 2 sets of soft ? I think it will depend on whether they want to start the race on soft (like Mercedes last year) or medium

FP3 started on medium, so they will definitely do at least one stint on soft tomorrow

deg is good, but it only matters if that pace is fast enough

Same. I think Ferrari and McLaren seem faster than RB at this point.

If RB really have lost all of their advantage it is quite astonishing. But that is the way of F1

IMHO, quali doesn't matter here as it used to before, when the final chicane was in place. What matters is T13->T14->straight , as that will be the key to DRS overtake. The setup needs to be squarely focussed on race and preserving the rear tyres. If that is going to introduce a little bit of understeer and sacrifice quali, so be it.

I agree with you that here race is more important than qualy, it has to be seen if Red Bull can have a superior race pace though, I'm not sure we can say that at the moment, based on what seen in FPs

anyway I think that not being in the first row would be a disappointment no matter what, given Barcelona is supposed to be a super favourable track for RB20

let's see if Max can pull the usual magic

I could clearly hear Perez liftoff for 9 and 12 while Max was flat out. Something basic is wrong with his car or the way he sets it up or it's a silly case of driver not confident enough to push it proper.

Car still looks unbalanced in the low speed. Feel like there is more time on the table. The race run seemed like full fuel with a more cautious opening than yesterday, deg improved.

Not bad at all. I don't think they are missing anything here. Time to go racing.
